Advantages of Hiring a Galloway Township Defense Attorney

Many times, individuals charged with crimes in New Jersey make the mistake of assuming that all they need to do is show up at their court date, and everything will work out. Unfortunately, this could not be further from the truth. Even if you're facing minor offenses, you could still receive significant fines and jail time, plus the generation of a criminal record that could follow you for a long time. If you are facing charges in Galloway Township Municipal Court, an experienced attorney can help you avoid the worst of these outcomes. A good criminal defense attorney can argue your case in court, negotiate for downgraded charges (or a complete dismissal of the case), or negotiate for lenient penalties. If you qualify for a diversionary program like Pre-Trial Intervention or Conditional Discharge, this may assist you in avoiding incarceration and keeping your record clean. Having an experienced attorney assist you with the application process gives you the best odds of acceptance.
