About Egg Harbor City, New Jersey

Located in north-central Atlantic County along the Mullica River, Egg Harbor City is home to approximately 4050 people. It derives its name from an early Dutch explorer who discovered this area in the early 1600s and noticed the abundance of gull eggs lying across the meadows. (Ironically, given the size of Egg Harbor Township surrounding it, Egg Harbor City is actually about 30 minutes removed from Great Egg Harbor itself.)
