New Jersey Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Women in His Shed

Back in March, Brandon C. Fickenscher of Camden County was arrested and charged for allegedly sexually assaulting two women in his shed in Berlin Township. Police arrested Fickenscher at his home, and he's currently being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility until a future court hearing.

Not a Normal Use for a Shed

According to an announcement from the Office of the Prosecutor of Camden County, Fickenscher purportedly took two female acquaintances to a shed and tied them inside. He then proceeded to sexually assault them. This shed was located on his property in Berlin Township.

On March 7, 2024, the Waterford Township Police Department received a 911 call relating to a woman who may have been sexually assaulted by Fickenscher in Berlin Township in December 2023. Police detectives also learned that Fickenscher may have also strangled the same woman in November 2022.

The next day, a second woman told police that she, too, had been sexually assaulted by Fickenscher in Berlin Township as recently as February 2024. Both of these women knew Fickenscher before the assaults, but the extent of their relationships is unknown.

Arrest and Booking of Fickenscher

Based on these allegations, Fickenscher faces numerous criminal charges. On March 8, 2024, he was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and third-degree criminal restraint. He was also charged with third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, third-degree aggravated assault, and third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Five days later, police charged Fickenscher with two counts of second-degree aggravated assault and one count of third-degree aggravated assault based on the alleged strangulation of one of the women back in November 2022.

Sex Crimes Among Acquaintances

Crimes such as date rape and aggravated sexual assault often occur between people who already know each other. The case against Fickenscher is no exception.

Another significant charge he faces is criminal restraint. This crime occurs if the perpetrator uses force, deception, or a threat to restrain the victim. If the victim and perpetrator knew each other, then the penalties for criminal restraint could be more severe depending on the relationship.

New Jersey Sex Crime Charges Require Legal Representation

Fickenscher is facing numerous charges. If convicted of just one of them, he could be facing up to 20 years in prison and hefty monetary fines.
